Lohagarh fort is a major fort in the city of Bharatpur in Rajasthan which is named as strong metal iron, as this fort is one of the strongest forts of all time. Lohagarh Fort is situated on an artificial island in the city center of the city of Bharatpur in Rajasthan, which is a major center of attraction in the entire city. Due to the charm and grandeur of this fort, a large number of tourists come to see this fort. The construction of Lohagad Fort started in the year 1732 by Raja Suraj Mal, which took about 60 years to build. In the year 1805, British forces led by Lord Lake invaded again and again and the army was under siege for six weeks. The Lohagad fort was attacked in 1805 on 9 and 21 January and on 20 and 21 February, killing about 3203 officers and men who were under the British Army.



The most durable point of the Lohagarh fort is its mud-built outer walls which absorbed all the firing without any trouble which was carried out by the Mughal and British forces. The fort walls are about 7 kilometers long and it took eight years to complete it. It is also believed that the Lohagad fort was probably inspired by the Mahi Durg or the earthen fort about which it was described in ancient Sanskrit texts. Unfortunately in 1826 the walls of the fort were broken by the British Army,When it was captured. The inner walls of this fort still remain.

 There are two gates inside this fort, one of which is in the north and is known as Ashtadhatu or eight-metal gate. This gateway with round bastions and paintings of war elephants gives evidence of its history. There is also an exciting story attached to this gate according to which this gate was initially the gate of the Chittorgarh Fort.



When Sultan Alauddin Khilji looted the Rajput city at the end of the 13th century, he took this gate to Delhi. When the Jats attacked Delhi in 1764, it was taken out of Delhi and they brought it back to Bharatpur. The south facing gate of the fort is called Chaubarja or four-pillared gate. It is also made in the same way. The sandstone court located here, or the Maharaja's meeting hall, fascinates tourists with its finely carved walls, columns and arches.

There are three palaces in the Lohagarh Fort which include the names of Mahal Khas, Kamra Mahal and Badan Singh's Palace. This fort structure also includes other monuments such as Kishori Mahal, Mahal Khas and Kothi Khas. Along with this, towers like Jawahar Burj and Fateh Burj are also located here. These towers were built to commemorate the Jat victory over the Mughals and the British army.

The palace Khas was built by Suraj Mal, one of the three palaces built by Jats in the fort during 1730 and 1850. This palace special also has a curved roof and balcony which is made of magnificent carvings and features the Jat style.

Kamra Palace is a special place of the fort which was used to store all the armor and treasures of the fort but now it has been converted into a government museum. The museum has Jain sculptures, carvings of a Yaksha, collection of weapons, and several manuscripts written in Arabic and Sanskrit . The palace has small chambers and ornate stone windows, with beautiful patterned marble floors. Other exhibitions of this museum also have a beautiful carving in the form of Nataraja and red sandstone Shivling of Lord Shiva.

The nearest airport of Bharatpur is located in Agra city which is 50 kilometers away, but very few flights operate to this airport. As a prime option for going to Bharatpur, you can take a flight to Jaipur International Airport (180 km) and Delhi Airport (200 km) which can prove to be much better and cheaper than Agra.

ऋषियों ने समझ लिया कि इस मेंढकी  ने हमे बचाने के लिए अपने प्राण त्याग दिए उन्होंने मंदोदरी को वापस जीवन दान दिया और एक कन्या का रूप दिया तब से कहा जाता हैं की मंदोदरी सप्तऋषियों की संतान थी
